Obituary

On November 1, 1950, Ruth and Joe Ainsworth welcomed their youngest daughter into this world—Kathleen Julia Ainsworth—lovingly known as “Kathie”. For the first 13years of her life, Kathie and her family lived in Far Rockaway, NY. It was here that Kathie developed a love for seafood and a knack for cooking authentic Italian dishes such as lasagna and tiramisu. This love for cooking would become one of the many ways through which she would serve her family and make every family gathering special.

At the age of 13, Kathie, her sister Diane, and their parents moved to Byram, MS. Over the years, Kathie became the beautiful and loving wife to Charlie Pearson and mother to Michelle, Christopher, Nicholas and Chance. She was a proud member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Jackson, MS and employee at Capitol Orthopedic and Women’s Health Clinic.

In her spare time, Kathie loved spending time with family, cooking, doing puzzles, and having “spa days” with her daughters and granddaughters. She enjoyed visiting her family throughout the country, especially her sister and family on the MS gulf coast.

Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph C. Ainsworth and Ruth Bouker Ainsworth.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charlie Pearson of Jackson, MS; her sister Diane Harwood (Lindsay-deceased) of Diamondhead, MS; her children Michelle Dickerson (Patrick) of Flora, MS, Christopher Pearson (Nikki) of Byram, MS, Nicholas Pearson (Sarah) of Starkville, MS, and Chance Pearson of Jackson, MS. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Isabelle and Baylin Pearson of Byram, MS, Sofia, Samuel, Lucas, and Ellie Ruth Pearson of Starkville, MS; great-granddaughter Estella Whatley of Jackson, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS with a visitation at 1pm and a memorial service at 2pm on Monday, September 21, 2026.
