Katherine Harvey-Hovel

Katherine Eglah Harvey Hovel went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, with her beloved children by her side. She was 64 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS, with a chapel service beginning at 12:00p.m.

Kathy was born on December 8, 1960, to Jimmy Dale Harvey and Mary Lois Overstreet Harvey in Collins, MS. She has lived in Pearl for over 30 years and was a member of Word of Life Church in Flowood, MS.

Kathy was a strong, independent woman full of faith and perseverance. She believed strongly in the Lord and relied on His plan to see her through all of life's ups and downs. She always put her children first and made sure they felt loved and safe at all times. Kathy was a big animal lover, with her soul dog, Banjo, by her side for many years. She enjoyed taking Banjo out to the Reservoir for walks. She was very talented at crochet, an avid reader, a wonderful cook, a master of DIY projects, and much more. Kathy loved spending time with her children, who considered her to be their best friend, role model, and the world's best mom.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Zachariah Bradlee Hovel. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Harvey, and by her son, Michael Harvey. She is also survived by her siblings, Randy Harvey (Trish) and Annette Harvey.
