Judy Pat Sartin Brumfield

Judy Pat Sartin Brumfield, born on September 27, 1940, in Tylertown, Mississippi, passed peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on September 28, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

In 1957, Judy met the love of her life, Jimmy Brumfield, with whom she shared 64 wonderful and blissful years of faithful and loving marriage until his passing in 2022. Known for her nurturing spirit, Judy embraced her role as a homemaker wholeheartedly ensuring that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were cared for and loved. She appreciated having her family close, allowing daily visits that filled her home with love and laughter. One of her greatest delights was rocking babies, especially one of her own and that love for rocking continued to bring her enjoyment even in her later years.

Judy was an active member of First Baptist Church in Terry, where she contributed to her Sunday school as her health allowed. Her faith was central to her life, and she and Jimmy were always devoted to attending church and participating in church events.

A woman of many interests, she had a passion for flowers and an adventurous spirit when it came to shopping, delighting in everything from flea markets to more refined establishments. Her joy extended to riding her golf cart, which brought her much happiness.

Judy leaves behind a loving family, including her five children: Jayme Baughtman, Julie Carter and her husband Bryan, Jody Brumfield, Jeremy Brumfield and his wife Racquel, and Joni Gray and her husband Robby, all residing in Terry and Flora. She will be deeply missed by her 14 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Additionally, she held close friendships with Billy and Rachel Jones, who were among her best friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, James Willie "Jimmy" Brumfield; her parents, Fred and Lola Sartin; her son, James Willie Brumfield, Jr.; as well as her sisters, Collette Sue "Bet" Fortenberry and Nina Rose Snapp, and their husbands, Milford and Charles respectively.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at First Baptist Church of Terry, located at 209 Raymond St, Terry, MS 39170, on October 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at Terry City Cemetery, Cemetery Drive, Terry, MS 39170.

Judy Pat Sartin Brumfield is remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Judy’s caregivers—Brenda, Monika, Shirley, Delma, Mimi Leach, and Ina—for their compassion, love, and friendship, which were deeply appreciated during the last several months. A special thank you to Traditions Health for their care during Moms last days.
