Judith Ann Redmond passed away peacefully at St. Dominic Hospital on September 1, 2026. She was born on March 25, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to Alvin Worthen and Lois Henderson Worthen. Judith made Byram, Mississippi, her home for more than 40 years and became a beloved part of the community.

Judith was a woman of deep and abiding faith. A devout Baptist and faithful Christian, she loved reading her Bible and cherished her relationship with the Lord. Her faith was an important part of who she was and guided her throughout her life.

Family was at the heart of Judith's life. She loved spending time with her family and especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of everyday life, including watching television, playing word games and solitaire, and spending quiet time with a good book.

Judith had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her beloved rescue dog, Max. While Judith rescued Max, those who knew her would say that Max ultimately rescued her just as much. Their bond brought her great companionship and joy.

She was also an avid bird watcher, with a particular affection for cardinals. She found beauty and enjoyment in watching the birds around her and appreciating the wonders of nature.

Judith dedicated her professional life to public service and retired from the Mississippi State Tax Commission, where she served as a supervisor in the Title Department. She was respected for her years of hard work and commitment to her career.

Judith was preceded in death by her grandmother, Edna Henderson, and grandfather, Jess Henderson; her mother, Lois Mayle; her brother, Chuck Mayle; her son, Edward Redmond; her grandsons, Aaron Moran and Dalton Stringer; her great-grandchild, Tristan Carraway; and her son-in-law, Jimmy Carraway.

She leaves behind her six beloved daughters, Suzanna Tyson (Curtis), Cathy Jo Stringer (Dwayne), Sandra Carraway, Cheryl Brock, Victoria Bethea (John), and Michelle Hilton and their father, Wayne Redmond.  She is also survived by her sisters, Sandra Knott and Gale Trezise (Richard).  Her cherished grandchildren include Wesley Carraway, Jessica Flanagan, Zack Carraway, Russ Carraway, Houston Stringer, Joseph Moran, Tara Flanagan, and Redford Bethea, along with 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces who will carry her memory forward.

Judith will be remembered for her steadfast faith, devotion to her family, gentle spirit, love of animals, and appreciation for the simple blessings of life. She gave her family a legacy of love that will continue through the many generations she leaves behind.

Though her family will deeply miss her, they can find comfort knowing that Judith's faith has become sight and that she is now resting in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.
