Johnny Charles Batton, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at his home in Florence. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. \

Mr. Batton was born in Simpson County, MS, March 21, 1940 to the late Ernest and Clara Batton. He was a plumber, welder, and pipe fitter working in the construction industry with Fountain Construction. \

He is survived by his two daughters, Sheryl (Floyd) Byrd of Star and Tami (Tony) Byrd of Star; and four grandchildren, Wesley Byrd, Kelly Pugh, Jennifer Reeder, and Nicholas Byrd.\
