John Bedford Thompson passed away Monday, March 23, 2026, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. He was 87 years of age. John was born in Jackson, MS on August 7, 1938, to the late Wilbur Davis Thompson and Doris Genovese Nixon.

John served our country and was a Veteran of the US Marine Corp/PFC from October, 1957 until February, 1961. He worked for many years as an Independent Contractor as a Newspaper Delivery man. John and his wife Suzan were avid bowlers, where the travelled the country with several bowling leagues and he liked to play golf.

John is preceded in death by his parents; wife Suzan Vinzant Thompson; and sister, Cornelia Robicheux. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
