Mrs. Jo Ann Walker

Jo Ann Hawkins Walker, 70, went to be with the Lord Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 12:00pm until the 2:00 PM Chapel service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery. Jo Ann was born September 30, 1949 in Belzoni to Greely and Belyer Lewis Hawkins. Ann and Kent were married June 4, 1977 at Calvary Baptist Church in Belzoni by Pastor Ragland. She was fantastic nurse and caregiver. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and loved having get togethers. In her spare time, she could be found reading, cross stitching, shopping or working her flowers. Loved ones preceding her in death include her parents, Greely and Belyer Hawkins, siblings, Melba Plemmons, Gray Hawkins, Nella Fay Estes, Betty Childress, Peggy Fulton, Jerry Hawkins, Greely Wade Hawkins and Glen Hawkins. Those left to mourn her passing include her husband of 43 years, Kent Walker, Sr.; Children, Amanda (Heath) Gandy, Glenda Allen, Kent (Victoria) Walker Jr.; sister, Mary Jane (Harry) Blakely; brother, Johnny (Margie) Hawkins; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gandy, Conner Gandy, Olivia Ballard, Sawyer Ballard, Nicole Walker, Jacob Walker; a great grandchild, Jayden Ballard and many nieces and nephews
