Mr. Jessie Lavon Grace passed into the arms of our Lord on January 24, 2023, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 79 years old. Mr. Lavon was one of nine children born to Jessie Grace and Catherine Anderson Grace. He and his wife, Sandra Ruth had two sons, Michael and Preston. He owned and operated Metro Painting and valued the many friendships that resulted from doing business in the community and surrounding areas. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed being in nature as often as he could. He was very involved with his church, Christ Sanctified Holy Church where he was an active member. All these things were important to him but what he treasured most was the time he spent attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. He adored each of them and loved spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandra Ruth Grace; three brothers, Bill Grace, David Grace, and Calvin Grace, and one sister, Becky Grace.
Those left behind to mourn his passing are his two sons. Michael Grace (Pshone) of Canton and Preston Grace (Alisha) of Jackson; as well as 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Tatum, Lindi, Lexie, and Lacie Grace. He is survived by three sisters, Patricia Haller, Mary Mallory, and Ina Housley, and one brother, James Grace.
