Jerry L. Day, Sr., passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Garden of Memories.\

Jerry was self-employed as a truck driver. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Erwinville, LA.\

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Mary Day; brothers, Marvin Day, Sherman Day, and Judson Day; and sister, Betty Ruth Mullins. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Earlene "Tootie" Day of Richland; son, Jerry "Sonny" Day, Jr. (Kelly) of Florence; daughter, Wendy Day of Richland; grandchildren, Ethan, Stephanie and Sean Day; sisters, Louise Pugh of Cameron, LA and Joyce Cobern of Winona; and a host of family and friends.\

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.\
