Jerry Curtis McWilliams Jr.

Jerry McWilliams was gently received into the loving of arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in Harrisville, MS. Jerry was born on December 11, 1958, in Jackson, Mississippi. Jerry is the son of the late Jerry C. McWilliams, Senior and Mrs. Mary (Tucker) McWilliams who resides in Florence, Mississippi.

Jerry was a graduate of Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Hinds Junior College. Jerry was a Jackson Police Officer and Detective. He received awards for his exceptional service to the force.
Jerry was extremely proud that he and his beautiful bride Karen reconnected and married in 2016. They dated in 1977 when they were both 17. He was a “romantic” according to Karen. “He was a typical 17 year old except that he was extremely responsible, ” Karen noted. Jerry asked Karen if she would marry him again. They renewed their vows in 2021 celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary officiated by Senior Pastor Kent Yarbrough. They were each others' first and last love. Nothing was more important to Jerry than family and friends. He will be missed by all.

Jerry had many hobbies. He loved listening to music. He enjoyed playing his guitar. Jerry loved gardening. He and Karen enjoyed riding their Harleys. He was a true “biker” at heart.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Karen Blakeney McWilliams. Also surviving are his sons Jeremy (Bethany) McWilliams, Cain (Angela) McWilliams and daughter Kattie McWilliams, fourteen grandchildren and one brother Perry McWilliams.
Friends may meet the family from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM on Monday, October 17 at Chancellor Funeral Home, 2576 Hwy 49 S, Florence, Mississippi 39073 where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM officiated by John E. Hancock, D. Min, Associate Pastor of New Covenant Church in Harrisville, Mississippi. Internment will be held at New Covenant Church Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.
