Jason Randal Harrison, born May 3, 1977, in Greenville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Ellisville, Mississippi. Jason leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and selflessness that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Raised in Belzoni, Mississippi, Jason’s early years were grounded in close-knit community values and a love for the outdoors that would follow him throughout his life. After moving to Jackson, Mississippi, in 2005, Jason continued to build a life rooted in service and unwavering support for those he loved. His faith was central to his life, and he attended Sand Hill Baptist Church.
Jason’s professional journey was defined by his commitment to serving others. In 2006, he began his career with the Brandon Fire Department. Through his work as a firefighter, Jason became known for his selflessness, humility, and willingness to always put others before himself. Colleagues and friends remember him fondly as a “jack of all trades, master of none,” a true testament to his versatility, good humor, and readiness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Jason made deep and lasting friendships during his years of service, always offering a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
His personal life reflected the same dedication and care. In 2008, Jason married the love of his life, Christie Williams. Their union was a source of deep joy and steadfast partnership, and together they built a loving and nurturing home. Jason’s greatest pride was his family, whom he loved with absolute devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christie Harrison, and his cherished daughters, Leslee Ann Smith (Austin) and Lauren Rene Dykes (Payton). Jason was also a doting grandfather to Thomas Smith and Montgomery Dykes, always eager to share in their laughter and milestones. His tender heart extended further to his mother, Gail Harrison; his sister, Amber Leahanne Williams (Michael); and his nephew, Wyatt Williams, all of whom carry forward his memory and spirit.
Jason’s life was also marked by a passion for the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace and delight in nature’s quiet moments, often sharing these special experiences with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley Larry Harrison—a relationship that shaped Jason’s values and commitment to those he loved.
Those closest to him will remember Jason as a friend to many, a compassionate presence, and someone always willing to place others’ needs above his own. His warmth, humility, and gentle humor left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path.
