Jane Peterson, born on June 4, 1944, in the charming town of East Liverpool, Ohio, departed this earthly realm on February 3, 2026, in Clinton, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy woven with humor, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends.
For over fifty years, Jane dedicated herself to the art of cosmetology, crafting beauty and joy for her clients. She retired from Making Waves Hair Design in Columbus, Ohio. She was a skilled artisan in her field, her career was not just about hairstyling, she infused her love for life, sparking laughter and warmth in the hearts of those she served.
Jane’s character was illuminated by her infectious spirit; she was funny, quirky, and possessed the rare gift of not taking herself too seriously. Her laughter, especially at her own expense, was a symphony that enraptured those lucky enough to share in her company. A perpetual smile adorned her face, a testament to her zest for life, which she cherished deeply and shared generously.
Her kindness knew no bounds. Jane was always generous towards her friends and family, treasuring the connections she forged throughout her life. It was often said that she never met a stranger; every encounter was a potential friendship. Her heart, forever softened towards those in need, resonated with a loyalty that defined her interactions. Jane’s willingness to lend a hand or an ear was the hallmark of her character, making her a beloved figure not only within her family but in her community as well.
A cherished member of Relate Church in Byram, Jane found solace and strength in her faith, passionately supporting the ministry led by her daughter, Tamera, and son-in-law, Charles. This profound bond underscored the essence of family values, which were paramount to her existence.
Jane is survived by her devoted daughters, Tamera (Charles) Ford and Malinda Chandler. As well as a stepdaughter, Jody Peterson, and her grandchildren, Sydney Ford, Luke Ford, Brighton Chandler, and Rowen Chandler, her sister, Nancy Brush, along with loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty years, Raymond Peterson, and a sister, Patricia Havice.
As we gather to celebrate Jane Peterson's life, we are reminded of the laughter that echo through our hearts, the kindness she imparted to all who crossed her path, and the memories that will forever shine bright in the lives of her family and friends.
