James W. Henry, Jr.

Mr. James William Henry, Jr., 79, died at MS Baptist Medical Center Thursday, January 17, 2008. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and 11 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Florence. Interment will be at the Florence City Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Henry was born in Chattanooga, TN. He was a graduate of The University of Tennessee with a civil engineering degree. He was employed by Delta Constructors, Inc., in Flowood. He served four years in the US Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence where he was a Sunday School teacher, a deacon and church clerk. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.\ \ He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Whitfield Henry; daughter, Carolyn Anne (Lyn) Henry both of Florence; sister, Barbara Henry Womack; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend and employer, Joe Campbell.\ \ In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church, PO Box 97, Florence, MS 39073.
