James Sanders

Mr. James Howell (Pop) Sanders, 91, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm today and 9-11am Tuesday with funeral services 11am Tuesday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.\ \ Born in Choctaw County, Mr. Sanders had been a resident of Florence since 1996, coming from Ackerman. He was a farmer and had worked at Belwood Kitchens as a woodworker. Mr. Sanders was a member of Faith Baptist Church. His wife of 63 years, Mildred Sanders preceded him in death.\ \ He is survived by his sons, William (Bill) Sanders and wife Ruby, of Florence, James E. Sanders and wife Rhoda of Ackerman, and Horton Sanders and wife Cathy of Florence; his daughter, Francis Williams and husband Dean, of Florence and Glen Allen; sisters, Vivian Baxter of Biloxi and Louise Marie of Mansville, OH, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.\
