James Charles Kilpatrick, 70, passed away on September 27, 2023. Born on December 22, 1952, to Charles Kilpatrick and Mildred Hardy Kilpatrick of Jackson, MS.
James began his truck driving career at the young age of 18, joining the FedEx company. His dedication and hard work were evident throughout his 25-year tenure with them. Prior to his career as a truck driver, James served in the Air Force as a testament to his patriotism and desire to serve his country. His time in the military instilled in him core values such as discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.
Beyond his professional ventures, James was deeply involved in various organizations within his community. He was a devoted member of the Masonic Lodge #452 in Crystal Springs for many years. As an active participant, he embraced the Masonic principles of brotherhood and charity. Furthermore, he was an active member at Bethesda Baptist Church and loved his Adult II Class.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Mildred Kilpatrick, as well as his brothers Billy and Clyde Kilpatrick.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Carolyn Ann Braswell Kilpatrick. Together they built a strong partnership based on love and mutual support. James's children, Jay Kilpatrick (Melissa) of Brookhaven, Jennifer Carr (Billy) of Petal, and Christy Burkes (Buddy) of Byram, were a source of immense pride and joy to him. James leaves behind a cherished legacy that extends through generations with his seven grandchildren: Anna, Alex, Caroline, Elijah, Charlotte Grace, Nate, and Audrey Kate. He is survived by his brother Bob Kilpatrick of Shamrock, TX, and sister Cindy Powell of Petal, MS. His niece, Callen Braswell held a special place in James's heart. Her presence in his life was a constant source of warmth and love. Additionally, James had a close friend in Lance Ball who provided companionship and support throughout the years.
Services will be held at Bethesda Baptist Church on Saturday, September 30th with a Visitation that will begin at 10:00 am and will last until the beginning of the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Bethesda Baptist Church.
