James “Calvin” Jones went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Jackson, MS. He was 75 years old.

Calvin was born on March 9, 1950, to Vernon Jones and Flora B. Lewis in the state of Mississippi. He was raised in Pearl, MS but has been a member of the Florence community for the past 20 years.

Calvin loved classic cars and his 76’ Nova was his prized possession along with his cat fur baby, Possum. He will truly be missed.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Michael Jones, Sr. He is survived by his son, Troy Jones of Star; grandchildren, AJ Jones (Julie) of Florence, Monaca Jones (Shelby) of Richland, and Kala Jones of Yazoo; 6 great grandchildren; nephew, Dwayne Jones (Jan) of Florence.
