James "Jim" Robert Zimmer

James Robert “Jim” Zimmer, 70, of Murphysboro, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home. 

Jim was born on April 15, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas to Robert George and Catherine Pearl (Dallas) Zimmer. He married Dee Ann Whitehead on July 24, 1999 and she survives. 

Jim had a passion for flying which he carried over to his career as owner of Advantage Aviation Insurance and had worked in aviation insurance his whole adult life. He loved the Oklahoma Sooners, he was an active member of the Elm Street Baptist Church, and he enjoyed traveling, especially camping. 

Survivors include his wife, Dee Ann Zimmer; daughter, Nikki (Ryan) Hall; three grandchildren, Aiden Hall, Casey Bulman, and Zoey Hall; sister, Sherry (Robert) Bois; nephews, Garret Bois, and Dale Zimmer, II. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dale Zimmer. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 6:30 PM at Crain Funeral Home in Murphysboro with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 10:00am at Holly Grove Cemetery in Braxton, Mississippi.
