James Eckford Clark went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home in the Monterey Community, in Rankin County. He was 84 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Briar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Florence, MS. James was born on May 26, 1941 to D.L. Clark and Lois Bridges Clark in Simpson County, MS. He lived in the Monterey Community for the past 56 years and was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church for even longer. He spent most of his working career in the plumbing and pipefitting field. In his later years, he transitioned to the Energy Management field, retiring from the V.A. Hospital. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was admired for his ingenuity and handyman skills. He was often fondly referred to as “Mr. Fix-It”. James found joy in teaching these skills to his grandson, Kendell. He had a deep love for his wife and grandchildren. James was a dedicated husband, Daddy, and Papaw. He will be deeply missed. James is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Deana Clark, and his brother William “Bo” Clark. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha Ezell Clark; daughters Amy Clark and Lauren Clark; grandchildren Kendell Clark, Ava Clark, and Madilynn Clark; brothers Emmett Clark and Doyle Clark; and many nephews and nieces.
