Jack Shows

Mr. Jack D. Shows, 79, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at his home. \ \ Visitation is 5-8pm Wednesday, July 1, 2009 and 9-10am Thursday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Funeral services are 10am Thursday at the funeral home with burial following at Florence Cemetery.\ \ A lifelong resident of Florence, Mr. Shows had worked 26 years with Mid State Construction, retiring as a supervisor and spent more than 60 years in the carpenter's union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and was an avid fisherman. \ \ He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lavada Shows; his sons, Jimmy Shows (Christy) of Florence and Timmy Shows (Susan) of Richland; his daughter, Debbie Rutz (Ricki) of Florence; his brothers and sister, Wayne Shows, Russell Shows, and Carrie Jones, all of Florence; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren\ \
