Hilton McDaniel, a beloved husband, father, and devoted member of his community, has passed away at the age of 83.

Throughout his career as an automobile painter at Capitol Body Shop, spanning an impressive 32 years, Hilton showcased his exceptional talent and expertise. His dedication to his craft was evident in his meticulous work and the restoration of several vehicles. One of his notable accomplishments was having one of his restored cars featured in a movie, a testament to his remarkable skill.

Beyond his professional achievements, Hilton will be remembered for the kindhearted and gentle soul that he was. A true homebody, he found joy in spending quality time with his family. He cherished being a loving husband to Joan Reese McDaniel for an incredible 59 years.

Hilton had various hobbies and interests that brought him immense happiness. He found solace in the art of fishing and the satisfaction that came with tinkering with trains, woodworking, and even crafting re-barb arches and flower stands. He was known for making blueberry cobbler and blueberry muffins, he would selflessly share these treats with friends and family, spreading warmth and joy with every bite.

He found solace in the pages of Western novels. The wonders of nature also captivated him as an avid birdwatcher. Hilton showed great care for these feathered creatures by crafting numerous feeders and birdhouses. Among his feathered friends, he had a special bond with a crow whom he lovingly referred to as "his crow." Feeding him and his fellow bird friends cracked corn.

As passionate as Hilton was about his hobbies, nothing could compare to his love for God and his unwavering faith. He found solace and community at Wynndale Baptist Church of Terry, where he enjoyed attending Sunday School. Deep friendships formed within his Sunday School class known as "Joy," demonstrating the love and companionship Hilton cultivated throughout his lifetime.

Hilton McDaniel's departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him. However, his memory will be kept alive through the cherished moments shared and the impact he made on those fortunate enough to be part of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Gary McDaniel and Kevin McDaniel and his daughter-in-law Teresa; daughter, Cheryl McDaniel; and grandson, Joshua.
