Gilbert Earl McKinney

Gilbert Earl McKinney passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, at his residence in Pearl, MS with his daughters by his side. He was 85 years old. The family will have a private graveside service on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl.

Gilbert was born on June 2, 1938, to Wilburn and Bertha McKinney in Roundaway, MS. He married “The Love of His Life”, Earleen, in 1966. They were married for 48 loving years. Gilbert enjoyed woodworking and yard work. He was a simple man. He enjoyed food, especially Mrs. Earleen’s cooking. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife, Earleen Shelton McKinney; his parents; son, John Wesley McKinney; sister, Mary Males; and brother, Wayne McKinney.  He is survived by his daughters, Donna Lynn Sullivan of Florence, and Alisa Butler (Bill) of Pearl; grandchildren, Brandi Banes, Brittany Sullivan (Patric), Christian Sullivan (Kelsey), Kimberly Buie (TJ); great grandchildren, Taylor, Sade, Cameron, Christian, Canaan, Jaxon, Lena Cate, Wesley Finn, and Curtis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
