George Michael Adams

February 28, 1953 — September 21, 2025

Florence

George Michael Adams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He was born on February 28, 1953, in Jackson, Mississippi, where his journey of kindness, dedication, and service to others began.

George was a deeply caring individual; known for his welcoming demeanor and the ability to put everyone he met at ease. His charisma shone brightly in his professional life as a Mississippi Real Estate Broker, where he ran his own company, Adams and Associates Realty. His generosity was evident both personally and professionally; he was known to give you the shirt off his back and spent cherished moments with his family, always placing their needs before his own.

Throughout his life, George was committed to serving others. As a Life Scout for the Boy Scouts, he instilled valuable life lessons in the youth he mentored. His faith was a cornerstone of his identity, and he dedicated himself as a missionary for the Church of Latter-Day Saints, serving diligently in Chicago, Illinois, and Gary, Indiana, for two years. His commitment to his community extended beyond this; he spent 20–25 hours a week at church, contributing as a Counselor and being an integral part of the Bishop Ward.

George leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his cherished family. He is survived by his adoring wife, Tanja Adams; his daughters, Shellye Jones (Brad), Kristy Adams, Audrey Neely (Wes), Katye Keith (Chad), Haley Adams; sons, Michael Adams (Liz) and Bob Adams (Sarah); sister, Karen Eyring (Nick), and is remembered fondly by his many loving nieces and nephews. His spirit lives on through his grandchildren: Kelsey, Layne, Kaleb, Becky, Jodie, Avery, Landon, Brittney, Morgan Rae, Brooklyn, Bayleigh, Mason, Colby, Kayden, Zachery, Jensen, Emmett, Charlotte; and great grandchildren, Graisyn, Bran’Dashia, D’Adrian, Izzy, Mia, Payton, Finley, and Carter, Sawyer. Excitingly, the family looks forward to welcoming one more great grandchild.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Adams and Glenda Gould Adams, and his brothers, David Adams and Keith Adams. Their memory lives on in the stories shared and the love that remains in his heart.

Family and friends are invited to honor George’s life during the visitation services, which will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Clinton, MS, on September 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on September 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at the church. George will find eternal rest during the interment at Garden of Memories in Florence, MS, beginning at 12:30 PM.

In this time of sorrow, may George’s kindness and indomitable spirit continue to inspire those he left behind to give freely, serve generously, and love unconditionally, just as he did throughout his life. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
