Florence Geneva McSparrin, 91, of Raymond, MS passed away on August 6, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Geneva was born on November 17, 1933 in Purvis, MS to James Acey Cagle and Lillie Elizabeth (Whiddon) Cagle. She worked for the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Jackson for 30 years. Upon retiring from MEPS, she worked part-time at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS, for 13 years. She was a longtime member of Faithview Baptist Church, where she loved her church family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Eugene McSparrin, her daughter, Patsy Janell McSparrin, her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Geneva is survived by her daughter Katherine Anne Adams (Mark Adams) of Jackson, her son Michael E. McSparrin (T.J. McSparrin) of Clinton, and her daughter Karen Elizabeth Cessna (Joe Cessna) of Richland. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Her family was incredibly precious to her and she loved them all unconditionally.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS on Monday, August 11, 2025. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the service at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clinton Therapeutic Recreation (P.O. Box 156, Clinton, MS 39060) where Geneva enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends.
