Gearldene Browning

Gearldene Browning went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at her home in Florence, MS. She was 85 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home as well. Interment will follow the service at Glenwood Cemetery in Richland, MS.

Gearldene was born on October 21, 1938, to Calvert Shows and Suzzanne Warren Shows in Martinsville, MS. She has lived in Florence for the past 50 years. Gearldene LOVED gardening and working in the yard with her flowers. She loved to shop, especially with her daughter Michelle, and enjoyed decorating. She had a very creative mind. She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, and making floral arrangements.

Gearldene is preceded in death by her parents, Calvert and Suzzanne Shows; and 3 siblings, L.E. Shows, Ethree Cook and Dorothy Hooser. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Larry Browning of Florence, MS; daughter, Michelle Cresap (Robert) of Florence, MS; son, Robert Pilgrim (Lori) of Alphretta, GA; grandson, Landon Cresap (her pride and joy) of Florence, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
