Gary Pope

Mr. Gary Frank Pope, age 61, died Friday, November 10, 2023, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home, Byram. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Terry Cemetery, Terry, MS.

He was born November 8, 1962, in Jackson, MS, to Mildred Lunsford Pope and James Jefferson Pope. Mr. Pope, a member of Wynndale Presbyterian Church, was employed by the Reformed Theological Seminary in the maintenance division.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tracy Carter Pope; three sons: Christopher Pope (Brooke), Joseph Pope, and Joshua Pope; four grandchildren: Desiree, Nick, Kinsley, and Ellis Clay Pope; two sisters: Wanda Pope and Sarah Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents: Mildred Lunsford Pope and James Jefferson Pope and two brothers: James Jefferson Pope, Jr., and Ronald Pope.
