Gary Donaldson

Gary Donaldson, born on November 3, 1952, in Columbia, MS to Roscoe Donaldson and Annie Mae Stampley Donaldson.  Gary passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, in Byram, MS. He was a dedicated diesel mechanic, known for his exceptional skills and strong work ethic throughout his career.

Gary possessed a warm heart and was especially known for his compassion toward animals. He had a remarkable ability to connect with creatures in need, often taking in stray animals and providing them with loving homes. His adventurous spirit led him to embrace the great outdoors, where he found joy in exploring nature. He frequently indulged in shopping trips to Bass Pro, sharing in this interest with many fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

An avid motorcycle rider, Gary cherished every opportunity to hit the open road on his bike, as well as enjoy the thrill of riding his 4-wheeler. His passion for the fast-paced world of NASCAR was evident, with a particular fondness for the legendary driver, Jeff Gordon.

Known for his friendly demeanor, Gary was a familiar face at the Waffle House, where the staff would always greet him by name due to his frequent visits.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife, Michele Donaldson, his parents, and brothers, Ron and Farrell.  He is survived by his sons, William Donaldson of Byram and Brad Wade of Byram; a daughter, Britney Bishop of Sallis; two brothers, Dale Donaldson (Kathy) of Natchez and Darrell Donaldson of Harvinston, AL; and a sister, Connie Morace of Vidalia, LA. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Dominick (Savanna), Jase, Chloe, Nathan, Preston, Kirsten, Dawn, Braelynn, Mason, Makenzie, and Trace; and two great-grandchildren, Carmilla and Kalani.

Gary will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His vibrant spirit and generous heart have left an everlasting mark on the lives of many.
