Dr. Frank Henry ("Bob") Roberts, III, 84, of Florence and Lucedale, Mississippi, passed away in Lucedale at 1:40 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

He was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan on February 18, 1942, to Frank H. Roberts II and Vera Irene (née Mespell) Roberts. Frank was the oldest of seven siblings and attended Columbia High School before joining the U.S. Army at age 21, where he met his beloved wife, Judith Ann (née Bishop) Roberts. After his service, he moved his family to Texas and worked for many years at the Clark-Aiken aircraft company. He later relocated the family to Florida, where he and Ann attended Liberty Bible College and he received his ordination. He went on to earn a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling and a Doctorate in Religious Education. In 1983, Frank moved his family to Mississippi to continue his education at the University of Southern Mississippi, earning a Doctorate in School Psychology. He later served as President of the Mississippi Association of School Psychologists.

Frank was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Lee Roberts; daughter-in-law, Marla Carter Roberts; grandson, Morgan Allen Roberts; and siblings Richard Roberts, Morris Roberts, Judy Roberts Christen, Connie Roberts Zuber, and John Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann; his sister, Candy Roberts Lauber; and his children: Wyatt Henry Roberts (and spouse Rhonda Perry Roberts) of Hattiesburg, Garyeth Wayne Roberts (and spouse Tammy Thornton Roberts) of Florence, Russell Allen Roberts (and spouse Erin Davis Roberts) of Pearl, and Joy Lynn Roberts Smith (and spouse Eric Lloyd Smith) of Lucedale.

Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home on Highway 49 in Florence on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM. A graveside ceremony will follow at Mountain Creek Cemetery, with a meal afterward at Quest Community Church.
