Emma Lee Hall Sumrall of Raymond left her earthly home and family on July 31, 2008 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, August 3, from 2:00-5:00p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Visitation will begin Monday at 10:00a.m. at Raymond Road Baptist Church in Jackson with funeral services to follow at 11:00a.m. Graveside service will follow at 1:00p.m. at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Crystal Springs, MS.\ \ Mrs. Sumrall was born March 17, 1918 in Waveland, MS to John Rhoden and Elizabeth Kistner Hall. She married Willie E. Sumrall on June 19, 1940. They opened their first service station in 1951 on Gallatin Street and opened the second station in 1956 on McDowell Road. Mrs. Sumrall had been a resident of Raymond for the past twenty-five years and a member of Raymond road Baptist church for some twenty-plus years.\ \ She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the VFW Auxiliary, Eastern Star of Leavell Woods, and Forest Hill Homemakers.\ \ Mrs. Sumrall was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Sumrall; daughter, Beverly Sumrall Wise; father, John Rhoden Hall; mother, Elizabeth Kistner Hall; brothers, Lloyd Arnold Hall, James Rhoden Hall and Wife, Tina Hammock Hall, Frederick Kistner Hall; sister, Ann Hall Snipes and husband Marvin Snipes; sister-in-law, Alta Lorraine Walker and husband Roy Walker.\ \ She is survived by her sons, William Ronie Sumrall, Sr. (Lynn) of Raymond, MS, James Arnold Sumrall (Clara Lee) of Hurst, TX; sister, Patricia Hall O'Brien (Robert) of Santa Barbara, CA; brother, Gerald H. Hall (Elizabeth) of Crystal Springs, MS; and sister-in-law, Eleanor R. Hall of Jackson, Ms. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, sixteen nieces and nephews and friend and caregiver, Mickey Rhymes.\ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Raymond Road Baptist Church Bus Fund.
