Edward A. Blackwell, affectionately known as Tony, passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 70 in Flowood, Mississippi. Born on February 5, 1955, in Laurel, Mississippi, he lived a life enriched by family, passion, and cherished memories.
Tony was a loving father, grandfather, and husband, valued in his roles as he dedicated himself to his family. He took great joy in spending time with his grandkids, always ensuring that they felt loved and supported. His enthusiasm extended to his hobbies as well; he found pleasure in showcasing his coin collection and indulging in his favorite scratch-off lottery tickets. Additionally, Tony enjoyed the tranquility of fishing, where he often reflected on life while surrounded by nature.
Tony is survived by his beloved sons, Justin (Alyssa) Blackwell and Joshua (Lauren) Blackwell, and his treasured grandchildren, Alyana, Sawyer, Sullivan, and Whit. He also leaves behind his sister, Dian Moore, and his brother, Stanley Blackwell, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
He has been reunited in eternity with his wife, Diana Dale Blackwell; his father, Buford Lee Blackwell; and his mother, Hazel Elaine Sullivan-Blackwell, all of whom he held dear in his heart.
