Edna Adelaide Kreuz Vertucci was born on October 7, 1934, outside of Altoona Pennsylvania, in the small mountain town of Ashville Pennsylvania. She was the oldest sibling of 6: Paul, Clarence, Gene, Betty and Ray. Surviving her are her brothers Gene and Clarence. She leaves her daughter, Beth Messina and her husband Joe, son Bill Kreuz and his wife Georgia Brady, and son Gene Kreuz and his wife Devencia. She is also survived by her granddaughter Amanda Andrews, grandson-in-law Robert Andrews, and her grandsons Dustin Messina, Ryan and Matt Powell, and great grandchildren Brianna, Sadie and Lawson Andrews as well as Little Joe Messina, who loved having his grandmother watch him fish. She is also lovingly remembered by three girls, Bonnie, Beth and Kimberley, whom she welcomed into her heart and cherished as her own grandchildren.

Edna was affectionately known as “Ding Dong” to her family and “Kreuz” to her friends.

She was a Penn State fan and proud of her Pennsylvania roots. Her true passion was tennis, which she played 3 times a week up until she was 80 years old. She called Altoona “Home” but, lived most of her life in the Raymond/Florence/Jackson area. For a brief period, she lived outside of Philadelphia Pa. as well as Baltimore Md. While in Baltimore, she worked in DC and fondly remembers the drive from Baltimore to DC in bumper-to-bumper traffic, talking to fellow drivers through their open windows. That was Edna -- she loved people and enjoyed conversations with anyone and everyone that she met.

She was blessed to have found love twice in her life, the first to Gene Kreuz, her first husband, and to Tommy Vertucci, her second husband. She adored, loved and outlived both men. But her last true love was Sunny, her adorable terrier dog, who was by her side in her last days.

Edna settled down in her last years at Riggs Manor in Raymond. She loved and was loved by everyone at the facility. Riggs Manor was the perfect place for her to spend these last few years. It is just a few miles from where she raised her family and in a beautiful setting in the country that she so much enjoyed.
