Ed Purvis

Thomas "Ed" Edwin Purvis, 78, died Sunday, December 09, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal.\ \ Mr. Purvis was a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton. He was a member of Leavell Wood Masonic Lodge #0620. He enjoyed gardening. Most importantly he loved his family and enjoyed cooking on the grill for them.\ \ Mr. Purvis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Purvis of Clinton; daughters, Vicki Scheider (Gary) of Clinton and Becki DePriest (Rodney) of Jackson; grandchildren, Adam Scheider, Amy Scheider, Zach DePriest, and Peyton DePriest; brother, Bill Purvis (Norma); and sisters, Mary Gray, Winnie Ishee, Rosalie Beckenbaugh, Patti Gomez and Hazel Chestnut. \ \ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering at Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton.\ \ The family guestbook may be signed at www.chancellorfuneralhome.com. \
