E. W. Grantham, 91, walked into the arms of our Lord on August 24, 2023.
He was born on August 28, 1931, in Clear Branch, MS to the late William and Erie Grantham.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Young Grantham. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Cercil, W.J., Ercil, Hegaman (Frank), Richard Donald (Buddy), sisters Shirley and Margaret.
He was owner of a sign manufacturing company, also was a Maintenance Manager for Baptist Hospital. After he retired, he continued cattle farming. He continued doing what he loved, riding a tractor and baling hay for his cows. He enjoyed helping others in the community. Everything came to a stop when the Wheel of Fortune show came on. He and Joyce loved traveling and listening to old bluegrass songs. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence where he also served as a Deacon for many years, and also taught Sunday School. He was also one of the founding members of The Florence Riding Club so the children of the community could ride their horses and have fun and camaraderie with other children.
He is survived by his three sons, Roger (Pam), Keith (Lisa), and Gary. All of Florence. He leaves 8 grandchildren, Kris (Stephanie) Grantham, Brian (Kim) Grantham, Charity Coley, Kevin (Jenny) Grantham, Allison (Ken) Atwood, Haley VanDevender and Hannah Grantham, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
