Doug retired after a long career at the United States Postal Service. He was a former member of Oak Forest Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was currently a member of Wynndale Baptist Church and faithfully attended the livestream services each week.

Doug is survived by his sister Pamela Poirrier Bunn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brother, Russell Joseph Poirrier (Vicky) of Terry, Mississippi; his nieces Linda Bunn of Morton, Mississippi, Cindy Bunn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Megan Poirrier Ladner (Jeff) of Terry, Mississippi; and his great-nephews Thomas Ladner and Ashton Ladner of Terry, Mississippi. He will also be missed by his best friend, Greg Armstrong.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi, and Briar Hill Nursing Home, Florence, Mississippi, for the compassionate care provided to Doug during his final years.

A gathering to remember and celebrate Doug’s life will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
