Mrs. Dorothy Jones, age 94, of Pearl, MS died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Graveside services will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama, time to be announced.

She was born June 20, 1929, in Minden, LA.

Mrs. Jones worked at JCPenney for 10 years as a seamstress. During most of her adult life, she was a Pastor’s wife, and she was a dedicated and true servant of God. She would do anything for anyone, especially her family. She loved her children, loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren even more and generally could never say “no”, not just to family but anyone at all. One of her joys in life was doing for others. She was a very talented baker and was known for her wedding cakes. She made numerous wedding cakes throughout her life, and you were blessed by her love and talent if you were the recipient of this example of service. Mrs. Jones was known by countless individuals through the years, and she was loved by everyone whom she came in contact.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Joe (Mary Beth) Upchurch of Brandon, MS; her daughter, Dorothy Ramsay of Pearl; her brother, David White of Mobile, AL; her six beloved grandchildren, Josh (Molly) Ramsay, Jon (Jessica) Ramsay, Inman Windham, Benjamin (Audrey) Upchurch, Camey Clowe, and Katie Sullivan ; and her eight precious great-grandchildren: Rhett Ramsay, Eva Ramsay, Adalynn Ramsay, Clayton Ramsay, Anne Conlee Ramsay, Ryder Upchurch, Myles Upchurch, and Piper Barrett; numerous other relatives, and many friends.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: James, Jack, Jesse, and Titus White; her first husband, Joe Upchurch, and second husband, Frank Jones.
