Dorothy Bishop

Dorothy L. Bishop, 73, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2007 at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 10-12 noon, Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm in Ovette Cemetery in Ovett, MS.\ \ Mrs. Bishop was born June 11, 1934 to Lewis Dowd and Lucille Holden Edwards in Shelby, MS. She had been a longtime resident of Ellisville, but currently lived in Jackson. She was of the Baptist faith.\ \ She is preceded in death by her husband John W. (Bill) Bishop. Survivors include her sons, Andy Bishop of Florence, and Carl Bishop of San Angelo, TX; brothers, Douglas Edwards of Demopolis, AL, Charlie Edwards of Waynesboro, VA, Allen and Tommy Edwards both of TX; sisters, Dolly Arrington of Alvin, TX and Paulette Jones of Selma, AL; longtime companion and caregiver, Stanley Chancellor of Jackson; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.\
