Born on February 1, 1942, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Dorothey spent the majority of her life in Terry, Mississippi, before residing in Crystal Springs during her later years. She was the daughter of the late Grace Rochelle and Raymond Rochelle.

Dorothey dedicated much of her career as an executive secretary for both Jitney Jungle Corporation and the State of Mississippi. Alongside her career, she was also a passionate and talented dance teacher who owned and operated her own dance studio. Dance was one of her greatest joys, and she shared that love with many throughout her life.

Dorothey was a devoted and faithful member of Wynndale Baptist Church for many years. She deeply loved her church family and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside others in her church community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Lloyd “Zeke” Zimmerman, and her brother Alvin Rochelle.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Amy Woodham and husband Allen Woodham, and Kimberly Smith; her son, Clifford Barrett and wife Debbie Barrett; her stepchildren, William Zimmerman and Robert Zimmerman; her grandchildren, Ally Westrope and husband Lee Westrope, Kaylee Woodham, and Colby Smith; her step-grandchildren, Paige Zimmerman, Zeke Zimmerman, and Adyson Zimmerman; and her sister, Nancy Day and husband George Day.

Dorothey will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, and her lifelong love of dance, which brought joy to both her and those she taught.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Wynndale Baptist Church.
