Mrs. Dorathy Jean Shirley

Ms. Dorathy Jean Shirley passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 21, 1948 in Winston County, Mississippi to Myrtis McCully Hisaw and Travis Hisaw. Visitation will be held Monday, August 23, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home, Byram and again Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 10:00 am until 12 noon. Her service of remembrance will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Welton Davis Shirley, in Rosemont Cemetery, Jackson, MS. She is survived by her mother, Myrtis McCully Hisaw of Jackson; five daughters: Alisa Lathem of Terry, Melissa Dempsey of Montana, Angela Hill (Randy) of Jackson, Melissa Rankin of Jackson, and Jena Leonard of Chicago, Illinois. She also leaves one sister, Shirley Beasley of Monticello, MS, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
