Mr. Denson Albert Carr Jr.

Denson Albert Carr, Jr. passed away on Saturday, February 06, 2021 at MS Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was 71 years old. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Hazlehurst City Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Jackson, MS, Mr. Carr was born to Denson Carr and Ethel Mayfield Carr on January 31, 1950. A veteran of the US Navy, he served from 1969—1973 on the USS Higbee off the coast of Vietnam. He retired from the US Postal Service. Mr. Carr was a member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church. He was a drummer and singer and performed with local band, “Flashback”. D.A. is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carlotta Carr; sons, Adam Geoffrey (Lindsay) Carr of Goose Creek, SC and Byron Nathaniel (Jamie) Carr of Oxford; brothers, Dale (Jo) Carr and Albert “Henry” Carr; sister, Fay “Cookie”; two grandchildren, William and Olivia Carr; and numerous nieces and nephews.
