Deborah Elizabeth Butler

February 19, 1952 — March 24, 2024

Englewood, CO

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deb Butler, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. After several years of struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, Deb passed peacefully on March 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Just before her passing, she was surrounded by loved ones singing her favorite songs.

Deb was born in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1952. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University. Eventually Deb settled in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where she raised her two daughters and had a successful career as an employee of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. After retiring, she moved to Denver, Colorado, to help take care of her grandchildren.

Deb was preceded in death by her husband Frank George Townsend III, and her parents Annie and Clyde Butler. She is survived by her siblings John (Wanda) Butler and Barbara (Tullis) Duplechain, her daughters Jennifer (Trapp) (spouse Ryan) White and Ellen (Trapp) (spouse William) Trachman, as well as her grandchildren—Ash White and Meira, Turner, Zev, and Lindy Trachman.

A graveside funeral service to honor and remember Deb will be held at 11:00 am on April 20, 2024, at Harrisville Cemetery in Harrisville, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers or donations, please call a loved one with whom you are out of touch.
