David Wayne Vaughan

David Wayne Vaughan, the best dad, husband, brother, and friend, went home to the Lord on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was selfless and brave until the very end. He was 64 years old. David was born on December 2, 1958, in Santa Anna, California. He spent his life helping and caring about others. He was a dedicated EMT/Paramedic for over 10 years, and he ended his career as the Human Resource Manager at Peco Foods for over 20 years. His heart was pure gold. He could remember every family member’s birthday and anniversary, and he would send goodnight messages to the entire family every night. He loved fishing trips with his mother, playing cards with his daughters, and spending time with his wife of 31 years and his dogs. He was the king of "dad jokes", and he had a joke for every occasion. He loved making people laugh. He was also the human Macgyver and loved gadgets and tools. He loved his dogs and especially his grand-dog. He made sure other people were taken care of before he ever thought about himself, and he would go without before he would let anyone else go without. He was a hero to everyone who knew him.

David was preceded in death by his father, Billy Collins Vaughan and his father-in-law, Francis Bragg, Jr.

David is survived in death by his wife, Debbie Bragg Vaughan; his daughters, Tiffany Lovell (Matt Lovell), Bailey Vaughan, and Jordan Vaughan; his son, Taylor Pritchett (Taylor Pittman Pritchett); his mother, Merle Isom Vaughan; his mother-in-law, June Bragg; his grandchildren, Riley Lovell, Elly Lovell, Amelia Pritchett, and Eleanor Pritchett; his siblings, Mark Vaughan (Tammy Vaughan), Linda Swatzell (Michael Swatzell), Amy Busfield, and Jon Bragg (Nancy Bragg); nieces and nephews, Jon Bragg (Lindsey Bragg), Joey Bragg (Erin Bragg), Ben Busfield, Jacob Busfield (Deanna Borden), Katie Buckley (Cody Buckley), Maggie Howell (Patrick Howell), Rachael Mumbower (Landon Mumbower), Ben Vaughan (Sarah Catherine Vaughan), Annabeth Swatzell, and Collin Swatzell; his great nieces and nephews, Hawkins, Penny, Joanna, and Rachel Bragg, Audrey Jo Busfield, Eliza Jane Roberts, Charlee, Kamryn, and Avery Buckley, Leland Howell, Melody, Logan, and Colton Mumbower; his dogs, Ella and Sulley; and his grand-dogs, Violet Vaughan (his little buddy), and Soybean.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 8th at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Brandon, MS., the same church he was married in and his children were baptized in. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:00 PM, with a service at 6:00 PM, and a family dinner to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
