David Thames

Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, November 2, 2007 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial on McCluer Road.\ \ David was born on March 14, 1943 in Crystal Springs, MS to the late Carl and Leona Thames. He enjoyed yard work and liked to go fishing every chance he could. He loved watching football and old western movies. However, telling jokes and making people laugh will be what he is most remembered for.\ \ He is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Sherri Mixon; and his brothers Carey, Floyd, and Earl Wayne.\ \ David is survived by his wife, Linda (Carpenter); daughter and son-in-law, Djuana and Gary Staats of Philadelphia; step-daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Alan Miller of Clinton; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Shannon Thames of Flowood; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brad Hatzog of Brandon; son and daughter-in-law, David, Jr. and Ruth of Slidell, LA; grandchildren, Peyton, Rainey, Matt, Katie Grace, Blake, Lauren, and Brodie; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Loretta Thames of terry. \ \ In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
