David E. Lancaster

Mr. David E. Lancaster passed away on June 4, 2023 at his residence, he was 80 years old. Mr. David was born September 16, 1942, to Walter Lancaster and Alma Hemphill of Canton.  

Mr. David was a valiant military veteran and served in the US Army which included a tour in Vietnam. He retired as a supervisor at Petroleum Equipment Company of Richland after serving for 33 years. He was an exceptional professional who had great respect and admiration from all those who worked with him.

Mr. David had several hobbies that he was passionate about throughout his life. When he was young, he always enjoyed riding motorcycles.  His hobbies changed a little as he got older.  In his later years, he loved fixing small motors and always enjoyed working in his garden, this  kept him busy most of the time. He enjoyed watching the Nascar races. 

Mr. David is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Alma Lancaster; and his sister Lois Blackstock.  He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Deborah Cannon Lancaster; son, Thomas (Susan) Presley; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Evans; grandchildren, Brandy Moore, Abigail Moore, T.J. Evans, Tara Evans, and Stephen Presley; great-grandchildren, Emma Lynn Shafer, Kix Callander, and Brooklyn Presley.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 7th, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.  A second visitation will be held Thursday, June 8th, from 9:30 am until the hour of service at 10:30 am.  All services will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow the funeral service at Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Florence.
