Dalton Thames

Dalton Thames, 83, passed away January 9, 2024.  He was the son of Hugh Thames and Mary Easterling Thames of Raymond, MS. 

He had four beautiful children with his wife, Brenda.  He was a loving husband, father, and Poppy.  He adored his family and treasured his time with them.  He was an avid golfer and played every chance he got.  He was a true Ole Miss fan and loved watching their games. 

Mr. Thames served on the vestry of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Bovina, MS.  He enjoyed a long career as an insurance underwriter.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Thames, and his two sons, Jeffrey and Brad Thames.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Thames and Julie Jones (Ben); two grandchildren, Taylor Jones (Nathan May) and Ian Thames-Jaffart; his high school sweetheart and beloved companion, Sara Margaret Porter and her son, Jimmy Porter (Cathy).  Other close family members who share many memories with Mr. Thames are Laurent and Tracey Jaffart, James Watkins (Chris) and their family, as well as Stephanie Crawford.

A Memorial Service will be held at his home church, St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Bovina, MS at 2pm with a hour visitation that will begin at 1pm and lead up to the service start time.
