Curtis Calvin Hammack

Curtis C. “Jack” Hammack, 85, entered his eternal home and was welcomed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, June 21, 2026. On Father’s Day, a day when he was celebrated as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather, Jack received the ultimate blessing of entering his eternal home and hearing the words he had faithfully lived for: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Jack lived a life defined by faith, service, and love. He faithfully served his God, his family, and his country, always placing them in that order. Possessing a servant’s heart until the very end, he was a blessing to all who knew him and was grateful for the gift of 85 healthy and active years. Jack faced death without fear because he knew where his forever home was and looked forward to the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Hammack; his son, Greg Hammack; and his daughter, Tammy Savell (Chris). He was the proud and loving “Papaw Jack” to his grandsons, Dalton Savell (Courtney) and Logan Savell (Olivia). One of his greatest joys was his growing family, and he eagerly anticipated the arrival of his great-grandson, James Savell, expected in September.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 2001. He was a member of the 112th Military Police Company and honorably served during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Following a distinguished military career, he retired from Army service. Never one to slow down, he continued working with Empire Trucking before dedicating his time to serving others through volunteer work with Gleaners.

Jack enjoyed an active lifestyle and could often be found bowling, riding his bicycle, or working out at the gym. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Richland, where he especially treasured the fellowship of his men’s Sunday School class and the friendships he built through years of worship and service.

Though his family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the assurance that he is now healed, whole, and at peace in the presence of his Savior. His legacy of faith, service, sacrifice, and love will continue through the generations he leaves behind.

The family takes comfort in knowing that this is not goodbye, but rather, “until we meet again.” “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
