Charlotte Carol Saxton

Charlotte Carol Saxton took the hand of her Lord and Savior and walked through the pearly gates of Heaven on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was 83 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories.

Charlotte was born on October 15, 1939, to Artis and Charlotte Ethridge in Isola, MS. She worked for Winn Dixie as a customer service representative. She was long time resident of the Florence community where she was a faithful member of Quest Community Church. She loved her church and church family, and she loved the Lord. She was a sweet woman with a servant’s heart. Faithful, hard-working woman who was a salt of the Earth kind of Lady. She was a persistent person who enjoyed plants.  She had a green thumb.  She will be missed by all.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James, and Robert Ethridge; and sister, Betty Ruth Locke. She is survived by her caretaker and granddaughter, Hope McPherson of Florence, MS; sons, John D. Hamilton Jr. of Richland, MS, and Danny Ray Hamilton Sr. of Slidell, LA; daughter, Charlotte Carol Shaw (Dale) of Atlanta, GA; brother, Johnny Ethridge (Sissy) of Deland, FL; grandchildren, Madison Shaw, April McPherson, Maury McPherson, Christy Hamilton, Danny Ray Hamilton Jr., Lisa Hamilton, J.D. Hamilton, and Rachel Hamilton; and a multitude of great grandchildren.
