Charles Terry Parker, born on July 17, 1957, in Forest, Mississippi to Charles Jerry Parker and Annie Margaret Lofton Parker, passed away on March 2, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. He went by Terry to friends and family. He was a devoted family man and an esteemed member of his community, known for his contributions to law enforcement and his passion for learning.
Terry dedicated many years of his life to serving as an officer for the Hinds County Sheriff Department. His commitment to public service was evident in every interaction he had with those he served.
A proud veteran, Terry also served in the United States Army, where he cultivated a spirit of discipline and camaraderie that carried throughout his life. After spending his formative years in Jackson, he made Terry his home for the last seven years, where he continued to forge lasting connections and friendships.
Terry possessed a warm personality that drew people in. He had a love for reading books and was not just a casual fan but an enthusiastic admirer of anime, which reflected his vibrant and engaging spirit. He enjoyed sharing these interests with others, often sparking lively conversations and discussions.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Margaret. Parker; his wife, Linda Kaye Sullivan Parker; and his children, Mark Aaron Parker, Kerry Michelle Harris, Casey Leigh Parker, and Robert Joshua Parker. Terry was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, David Campbell, Sean Campbell, Sophia Kaye Jackson, Annabel Lee Parker, Raistlin Seth Harris, and Adelynn Syl Parker, whose lives he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Keith Parker.
Terry is preceded in death by his father, Charles Jerry Parker, and his granddaughter, Willow Rae Harris.
