Charles Henry Burkley

Charles Henry Burkley, Jr., beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 19, 2025, in Lucedale, Mississippi, at the age of 39. Born on April 23, 1986, in Jackson, Mississippi, Charles brought joy to countless lives through his spirited nature and boundless love for his family.

Charles was a dedicated member of the Combat Veterans Association, where he found brotherhood among fellow veterans, sharing experiences and camaraderie that were integral to his life. He embraced adventures on his motorcycle, a hobby that brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his passion.

Family was of paramount importance to Charles. He cherished his role as a father to his son, Jeremiah Burkley, and his daughter, Kallista Donica Cuervo-Paiva. He was a loving son to his mother, Kathie Burkley, and a supportive brother to his sisters, Paula Vinzant and Katie (David) Odom. He also had a special relationship with his girlfriend, Jessica Russell, and held a deep affection for his numerous nieces and nephews.

An avid lover of the water, Charles found peace and happiness in the great outdoors, whether it was swimming or fishing. He had a remarkable affinity for dogs, often delighting in their companionship. His passion extended to working on trucks and an appreciation for firearms, showcasing his diverse interests and talents.

Charles was known for his infectious laughter and his ability to lighten any mood with a joke, earning him a reputation as the family jokester. His warm spirit and happy demeanor left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Charles is preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Burkley, Sr., and his sister, Sarah Burkley. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to resonate throughout the lives of his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on December 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at Chancellor Funeral Home, Florence, Mississippi. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the life of Charles Henry Burkley, Jr., honoring his memory and the joy he brought to so many.
