Cathy Killoren

Cathy Lynn Killoren,52, went to be with her Lord in her beloved El Salvador on November 28, 2007. Visitation will be 5-7pm Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at First Pentecostal Church , Jackson, MS. Funeral services will follow at 7:00pm at the church. Interment is scheduled for Friday, December 7, 2007 in La Grange, GA. Chancellor Funeral Home Byram is handling local arrangements\ \ \ Reverend Cathy Lynn Killoren was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29th, 1955 to Thomas M. Killoren and Margie W. Hewett. This was the beginning of her extraordinary life. After coming to the Lord, Cathy went to Jackson College of Ministries to study theology where she graduated with high honors and won the Jacksonian award, given to the outstanding graduating senior. After graduation she joined the staff at First Pentecostal Church in Jackson, Mississippi. During this time Cathy received her missionary call to the country of El Salvador. \ \ In May 1989 Cathy set out on a journey that she would not complete until the Lord called her home on November 28, 2007. She began working in El Salvador as a missionary on the Associates In Missions program of the United Pentecostal Church. Because of her dedication and love for the Salvadoran people, she sought and received appointment in 1995 as an intermediate missionary to El Salvador. \ \ Cathy continued her labor of love working with Sunday school children throughout the Salvadoran capital. For 18 years she dedicated her life to ministering to both the rich and the poor through cell groups, clinical evangelism, and Bible studies. Because of her continued dedication to the people of El Salvador, Cathy's ministry continued to progress, and in 2005 she was ordained as a minister of the United Pentecostal Church and received career missionary appointment. She will be remembered by friends, family and thousands in El Salvador as someone who cared for people above everything else. \ \ Cathy Killoren resided in San Salvador, El Salvador and is formerly of LaGrange, GA. Cherishing her memory are her mother, Margie Moon of LaGrange and her father, Tom Killoren, and wife Dorthey of St. Louis, MO; a brother, Michael Killoren of Columbia, SC; a half-brother, David Killoren and wife of St. Louis, MO; a step-sister, Elizabeth Jenkins of Clover, SC; an aunt, Mary Jo Verresmen of St. Louis, MO; three uncles, Gene Hewett and family of LaGrange, GA, Shorty and Carolyn Hewett and family of LaGrange, GA, and Ledford "Peanut" and Shelby Hewett and family of Dallas, GA; Mrs. Verilon Hewett of Hiram, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her church family and beloved friends in El Salvador and Jackson, Mississippi.\ \
