Carole Faye Moore, born Gammill on May 23, 1943, in Enid, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at her daughter's home, surrounded by family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for placing family above all else. Carole's life revolved around her loved ones, cherishing moments spent watching her grandchildren play and anticipating the arrival of her great-granddaughter, Merritt Frances Steed.

A longtime member of Country Woods Baptist Church, Carole found joy in worship music and dedicated herself to daily Bible readings. Her faith was pivotal, and she made it a point to journal in her Bible on special occasions, which reflected her deep commitment to her spiritual journey. Carole took immense pride in witnessing her children's growth and their relationships with Jesus, as their salvation was of great importance to her.

Carole’s passion for gardening and reading was complemented by her love of outdoor activities. She enjoyed leisurely rides on the golf cart with her dog and took delight in spontaneous drives with her husband, exploring new surroundings. In a charming personal touch, she preferred watermelon over cake for her birthdays, indicative of her lighthearted spirit.

Her bond with her sister Bonnie was especially significant, characterized by an unbreakable connection that enriched both their lives. Carole was never one to miss an event her children and grandchildren participated in, often cheering them on vocally. Known for her fabulous sense of humor, she was also recognized for her unique habit of wearing lipstick, leaving affectionate prints on everyone’s forehead.

Carole is survived by her daughters, Melanie Smith and her husband Ryan of Brandon, Valerie Adcock and her husband Byron of Florence, , and son Langston Moore and wife Lisa Kennedy Moore of Jackson. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth Adcock Steed and husband Tyler, Wells Bowen Moore, and Jacob Bowen Adcock and great-granddaughter, Merritt Frances Steed. Additionally, she is survived by her nephew Leslie Williams and wife Anita of Clarksdale, as well as her great-niece Amanda Yara.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie Levering Gammill and Marjorie Bowen Gammill; her husband Roy Moore; her sister Bonnie Williams and her husband Horace; and her nephew Jeff Williams.
