Carol Jean McRaney Sessions, 84, of Florence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in her home.

She was born on April 15, 1941, to Ornie Spears and Emma Welford and was a retired cook known for her love of baking sweets, obsession of collecting photos and her hobby of growing plants.

She is survived by her three sons, Randy (Christina) McRaney, Mark (Kelli) McRaney, Marshall (Stephanie) McRaney and her beloved grandchildren: Tyler, Bryson, Alex, Jacob, Victoria, Hannah, Brandon, Buddy and Karessa along with 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill McRaney, her second husband, Billy Sessions, her sister, Harriet Parnel and her two brothers, Glen Spears and James Spears.

Visitation will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, March 14, 2026 @ 10:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Florence with a Funeral Service starting at noon.
